Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a Deemed to be University established in 1953. It was initially recognized for founding India’s first self-financing medical college through a Public-Private collaboration model. The university was officially designated as a Deemed to be University by the Government of India in June 1993.

Located in Udupi district, Karnataka, MAHE serves over 35,000 students from more than 60 countries. The university comprises a faculty of approximately 3,000 members supported by 10,000 staff.
